Listen to this meditation on audio:
Is the glass half full or half empty? My smart-alecky answer would be, who cares whether it's half full or half empty as long as there's something in the glass. But you and I know this old bromide represents a metaphor for how we view things that happen to us in life . Depending on how we were raised, and by whom, our take on life can be anywhere from totally negative to totally positive to anywhere in between. Our formative years, whether good or not so good, have a profound impact on our view of how life works; whether it is hostile, neutral, or friendly. I can say to you without hesitation that life has probably been all three of those things at some point in each of our lives. Life is an equal opportunity knocker downer. So, when it's your turn, take your licking, get up off your duff and start refilling that half-full glass. Nothing in life will make you happier than getting back up after a strike-out and hitting a home run! While hitting a home run is truly a blessing, having the opportunity to strike-out or hit a home run is also a blessing. Adversity is also a disguised blessing. Just keep living and you will find out that lessons learned from your failures will be the things that catapult you forward, toward the happy and fulfilling life you desire, so consider whatever happens to you to be a blessing. In one way or another, the adversities and challenges, you face will be the teachers who prepare you for a brighter, happier and healthier tomorrow.
Count them all as blessings because they are!
