June 24, 2024: Learning Experiences

"Experience is a hard teacher because she gives the test first, the lesson afterward."
⁃ Vernon Sanders Law

It is through experiences, good or bad, that we learn how to calibrate and adjust our responses to similar future circumstances. Without those opportunities to learn, we would not be able to fine-tune what we will do next time we are faced with a similar situation. Nothing can take the place of first-hand experience. Nothing can teach us more than learning by doing. So, if you have an opportunity to do something, especially, if it is for the first time, jump at that chance! Whether you fail or succeed is not what is important. What you gain, psychologically; what you will realize internally, what you will become because of it, will establish you at a level of capability not previously experienced or perhaps even understood. Every time you take a chance on yourself and you are victorious, you create significant growth spurts in your self-confidence and self-esteem. As you do the things that you are not sure about, You become more and more self actualized and self-assured. Let's get some growing going!
