June 20, 2024: Travel Education
"Nothing develops intelligence like travel."
⁃ Emile Zola
As we continue to enhance our lifelong journey of learning, let us not neglect nor overlook the value of traveling, in the furtherance of our education. Direct interaction with other cultures can be a rich source of enlightenment as we observe and interact with people from different parts of the world. Merely observing the reverence which some cultures have for their elderly is in itself interesting and in some ways enriching. Until we have drank from the rich cup of other world cultures, we can hardly help but have a somewhat pedestrian view of the rest of the world. Of course, reading about peoples in other parts of the world, can also bring a wealth of knowledge and appreciation of the vibrant cultures that were on this planet long before America came to be. There is a big, bright and fascinating world out there for us to experience! I hope you won't neglect this vital component of your personal education. Whether you travel virtually or actually, get some traveling going!
