July 29, 2024: Life - Bored

“If you're bored with life — you don't get up every morning with a burning desire to do things — you don't have enough goals.” — Lou Holtz

Life! – with its infinite personal possibilities, its enthralling natural order, its captivatingly beautiful scenery should have us so in awe that we have no time for boredom. Have you not thought about the incessant pounding of our oceans on worldwide shores that in their majesty and the miracle of evaporation create the clouds that rain on our fields around the world to give us crops from which the world eats? The almost unbelievable process that creates a magnificent butterfly from a hairy caterpillar, should at least cause us to wonder how that can be. If we can discover something in our lives that interests us, something that catches our eye, something that causes even a little curiosity, we have a starting point for reconnecting ourselves to this fascinating thing we call life. If we are not too fearful or too lazy to take an interest in what is going on around us, we can enjoy learning about the things that we don't quite understand. An introspective study of ourselves and seeking to understand why we do what we do and why we avoid doing those things that we avoid, could keep us intrigued for a lifetime. If you desire to kiss boredom goodbye, start seeking to understand and appreciate the world around you and your place in it
