July 15, 2024: Make a Better Future

"You can't go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.
– C. S. Lewis

Making a better future is about focusing on where we want to go and not how we are going to get there. The key ingredient is to know exactly, specifically what that better future looks like. The less specific your goal, the less likely you are to get there. Non-specific goal: I will graduate from college in four years. Specific goal: I will graduate from the University of__________. In the summer of 2028 with a degree in_________.
Once your larger goal is refined into smaller doable steps with a matching timetable for their completion, you are on your way. As you begin to take those day-to-day steps, the how will lie within those step-by-step plans. The final, crucial step in this success plan for reaching your personal goals is the WHY. If your WHY,' your reason' for setting and reaching your target Is important enough to you to do what is required, your goal will be reached. It's really a simple as that. If your desire for that goal is strong enough nothing can stop you! If your desire is weak and vacillating, don't bother calling that a goal, because it isn't. Identify something you have a burning desire to achieve, and you will achieve it. Make up your mind and then give it all you've got!
