August 30, 2024: Step by Step
"The man who moves a mountain begins by carrying away small stones."
- Confucius
Setting really big goals is often too daunting for many of us, so we don't even try to accomplish the big goals. The story that nature tells about getting big things done is based on patience, persistence and small steps. Patience, persistence and small steps. A beaver, by bringing just one log at a time, can eventually dam up a mighty river. A spider weaving only one thread at a time can erect a beautiful web, which will then provide it with food. Honeybees must make 2 million flower visits to produce 1 pound of honey. Patience, persistence, and small steps. Patience, persistence, and small steps. Likewise, no matter how big or expansive our goal, it can be achieved in the same way. Patience, persistence, and small steps. No job, no goal is too big if we can break it into the small steps that will lead to our goal. Then we must apply patience and persistence. Patience, persistence and small steps. Period!
