I think most of us if asked, would want to have a winning life, a successful life. I wonder if enough of us have thought seriously about what success, what winning means to us. There's an old saying that goes something like "If you think it's hard to hit a target you can't see, try hitting a target that isn't there." I wonder how many of us are trying to hit targets that we haven't even created or seriously thought about. A winning life would certainly include achieving those things we deem important enough to feel proud for having attained them. It would probably also include developing ourselves to the point where we would come to understand that it makes no sense to sweat the small stuff; and that it's really all small stuff. Defining a winning life is difficult mainly because we are so individually different. This means, something that would satisfy one of us might not bring satisfaction to another. The fact is that no one, but ourselves can decide what we would consider a winning or successful life. So, we have now arrived at the point in this little muse where each of us needs to ask our self "What does a winning life look like to me? "What level of financial success would it take? What would a successful relationship look like? What would my contribution to society and to my family look like? These are questions each of us need to ask ourselves. Answering them honestly, and equally importantly, writing them down, could make a world of difference in enhancing each of our lives. I will close this little chat with a question put forth many years ago by a motivational speaker who asked, "If you don't know where you're going how will you know when you get there?"
