October 25, 2024: Winners and Non-Winners

"Winning is not everything, but the effort to win is." ⁃ Zig Ziglar

To my way of thinking, life's winners are those who are able to achieve a level of happiness, regardless to whatever level of prosperity they are able to attain. My non-winners would be those who, despite their level of accomplishment, are not able to experience a sense of happiness or joy in their lives. As I see it, one of the main elements of a winning life is a healthy, optimistic attitude about your prospects for doing well, based on whatever doing well means to you. The next element of a winning life seems to be a healthy work ethic; attempting to do the best we can at whatever we find ourselves doing. Winners are not sluffers; they do their best and not just what they feel like doing. One other characteristic of a winner's life is the desire to continue learning new things and becoming better overall as a person, in temperament and skill.
