June 26, 2024: Good and Bad Times

"Don't close the book when bad things happen in your life, just turn the page and begin a new chapter."
⁃ Unknown

Bad things have to happen to us, how else would we recognize when things are good? It's because of the darkness that we can appreciate the light. It is by experiencing the cold of winter that we can appreciate summer's warmth. The dichotomies of life teach us to expect sweet and sour, high and low, near and far, wet and dry, strong and weak, good things and bad things. And so life goes. Now, with this understanding of the structure of life, let us accept the bad things as just another page in life's story. Each page can only last so long, and then the page turns. Using our faith, we can ride out each dark hour, knowing that the light is on its way. Trouble doesn't last always. Good times don't last always. The book of life is constantly teaching us to be patient and to be hopeful. Now you know.
