"At the end of the day, your health is your responsibility."
- Jillian Michaels

Good health should be our most prized possession! Some of us treat good health as though it's an entitlement; something that we will have, even if we don't try to protect it. Newsflash! That prescription your doctor gave you, only camouflages the symptoms of whatever your ailment is. It is not a license to go full speed ahead with the behavior that caused the illness. Those pills, capsules or shots should be looked upon as Band-Aids to cover or lessen our symptoms while we correct the behavior that is causing the problem. Retaining relatively good health, as we age, is not by accident. I would be willing to bet that in the majority of cases, those who are enjoying continued good health, at some point in their lives, took responsibility for their own health. What we eat, and what we do physically, are the greatest determinants of health as we age. A good doctor cannot save us from ourselves! We have to accept responsibility for the future state of our own health, and begin doing things now that will illicit gratitude from that old person we will someday be. Digging our graves with our teeth, may be a catchy phrase, but it's an ugly reality. Let's all take responsibility for treating our one and only body, with the care and respect it truly deserves. Here's to your future good health!
