July 13, 2024: Dance Your Dance

"Once I began to realize that there were no rules and that my path didn't have to look like everyone else's, I relaxed, and my whole world opened up."
– G. Brian Benson

Most of us seldom reach the point where we realize that the conformity-jacket we've been wearing is not a one size fits all, as we were led to believe. While conformity may be good for an orderly society, that same society also gets robbed of the incredible creativity and self expressed beauty of those who have been held back by the conformity model. The bulk of our society generally looks up to and admires those scientists and artists and philosophers and teachers, etc., who wow us with their seemingly special talents. Could it be that those who conform to society's norms might also be harboring the same beautiful thoughts and acts that we admire in others? I wonder how many of us are filled to the brim with unexplored talent that we have withheld from the world, thus depriving it of the beauty of our expression of life. I wonder. Are you one of those gifted individuals who never broke out of your comfort zone? If so, it's time to take flight and do your special thing and let us look in amazement at that awesome person that we thought was ordinary. It's time to get going and show us what you got!
