December 30, 2024: It’s Not Over Till I Win!

"You are not defeated when you lose, you are defeated when you quit."

- Paulo Coelho

Listen to this meditation on audio:

You know you can do better. You know you can be better. You have probably scolded and queried yourself relentlessly at this time of year, about why you don't act and do better. Well, take it from me, from my personal experience, recriminations and beating ourselves up is not the answer to doing better. Taking a hard look at what we did and did not do in the past 12 months, will give us some clues. We probably got off to a good start; making plans, setting goals, and reminding ourselves of the benefits of reaching our objectives. Somewhere along the way we got sidetracked, perhaps by a job situation or a health or family situation, and we lost focus. Once whatever happened happened, we were never able to get back on track. Here's the thing, those distractions, some of them serious, that torpedo our goals and plans, are going to show up in the new year and then the next year and the year after that. We are always going to have distractions from where we want to go. So, unless and until our desire to excel and prosper by changing our habits, is so strong and focused that we will not allow anything to deter us from our goal; until that happens, we don't really have a goal, we just have something we want to do or would like to do. Remaining mindful every day and every night of where we are determined to go, is pretty much the only way to become who we want to become. Forming the habit of staying on our path to success is like any other habit we wish to build. Repetition of working around distractions will get you where you want to go. Finding ways to reinforce our hunger for successful completion of our aspirations is an absolute necessity for achievement. Please know that every person who achieves their idea of success, has had to overcome the roadblocks and stumbling points, that got in their way. Each of us has to do exactly the same thing. We just have to make up our minds that no matter what we have to overcome on the way to our goal, that we are going to overcome it. We literally have to adopt the mental attitude. That's "it's not over till I win." "It's not over till I win!" I'm wishing for you a happy, healthy and excitingly prosperous 2025. Now go out there and be whatever wonderful thing you want to be!
