Listen to this meditation on audio:

On the road of life, there are several different types of drivers. Some are frequently too reckless. They like to wing it in life. Never-mind doing too much planning; just charge forward and see what happens. This type of driver, will most likely have a life that is very interesting at times and probably pretty chaotic at other times. Then there's the kind of driver going through life with too much caution. This type of life driver will be very hesitant about trying new things or taking any kind of risk who's outcome is not totally predictable. This would be the type of life that never fully develops because of its timid approach to living. Another type of life driver might be called too sensible. This driver likes to make sense of what's going on and understand the pros and cons of any move he or she makes; they're not interested in taking too many risks. They feel that slow and steady wins the race.
Another type of life driver might be categorized as intentionally ignorant. This type of driver doesn't want to know what's going on; perhaps out of fear that it might be too overwhelming or too difficult. Which kind of life drivers are we? If I had to guess, I would say that 90% of us have been a mixture of all four of those categories at different stages of our lives. But here's the question: if each one of us were to take a serious moment and contemplate what percentage of each one of those four categories applies to us and would account for where we are on the road to where we want to be, what changes might be called for to get us on track, if we weren't already on track? And even better question might be, "are we willing to make the changes necessary to make our life as fulfilling and happy as what we want it to be? Most of us are not where we want to be. The unsettling reality is, far too many of us are not willing to invest the energy it would take to reach our goals in life. If that last statement applies to you, I would just say this. The only life you are going to get is the one you have. Please don't let fear, lack of confidence or laziness keep you from becoming all you were meant to become. Now that's the bottom line.
