Did you know your body and brain are best friends? They work together like a team! When you take care of your body, your brain works better. And when your brain is happy, your body feels better too!

Let's learn some easy ways to take care of your body so your brain can do its best work.

Your Body Needs Good Food. Think of food like gas for a car. If you put good gas in, the car runs great! Your body works the same way. When you eat fruits, vegetables, and healthy foods, your body has energy to run and play. Your brain has energy to think and learn!

Junk food is okay sometimes. But if that's all you eat, your body gets tired and grumpy. It's like putting bad gas in a car. The car might still go, but it won't work very well.

Your Body Needs to Move. Running, jumping, dancing, playing—all of this is good for you! When you move your body, your heart pumps blood to your brain. That blood carries oxygen. Your brain LOVES oxygen! It helps you think better and feel happier.

Have you ever noticed that after you play outside, you feel really good? That's your body and brain being happy together!

Your Body Needs Sleep. When you sleep, your brain is busy working. It's organizing everything you learned that day. It's fixing things in your body. It's getting ready for tomorrow.

Without enough sleep, your brain gets foggy. Everything seems harder. Sleep helps your brain work right.

Your Body Needs Water. Your brain is mostly made of water! When you don't drink enough water, your brain can't work as well. You might get headaches. You might feel tired.

Drinking water is like watering a plant. It helps everything grow strong!

Your Body Needs to Laugh. Here's a fun one: your body needs to laugh! When you laugh, your body makes special chemicals that make you feel happy.

Laughing with friends, watching something funny, or being silly all help your body and brain feel good.

You Can Do That!

Taking care of your body isn't hard. You don't have to be perfect. Just try to:

  • Eat some good foods

  • Move around and play

  • Sleep enough

  • Drink water

  • Have fun and laugh

Your body and brain will thank you!

Your Action Step:

Today, pick ONE way to be kind to your body.

You could:

  • Drink an extra glass of water

  • Eat a fruit or vegetable

  • Play outside for 20 minutes

  • Go to bed a little earlier

Then notice how much better you feel!
