The political times we are living in right now have got to be unnerving and possibly frightening for some of us. There is so much uncertainty and potential peril ahead. Some of those perils, may have already visited you or someone you know. It is in times like these, when having faith or belief in something greater than ourselves and our situations, can prevent us from falling into utter despair. Many people of faith have seen how trusting in an
all-powerful God can bring us through any situation that life presents; we are battle tested and understand that no matter how ferocious the storm, it always stops raining. It always stops raining! I, fortunately learned that lesson in my early days in the life insurance business when the bulk of my income was from my sales commissions, which had no guarantee. It was my faith and determination that brought me through several anxiety filled months in those early years. It was also during those shaky years that I learned an important question to ask myself when things did not work out the way I had hoped. The wise author of one of the many sales books I read, asked the question "Now, what are you going to do?" "Now that you failed to close that big case you were counting on, "now what are you going to do?" That all-important question took my mind off of what had happened, and correctly redirected it to the more important question," Now, what are you going to do?" I have re-entered that important question into my survival arsenal. It came in handy during those early years and it surely will work for me again, if need be. It's a good question; one that all of us should be aware of and prepared to use if needed in the days and weeks ahead.
