January 13, 2025: RAISING YOUR CHILDREN

Raising children can be a wonderful, wonderful experience, or, it can be a raging nightmare! Here are three things that will largely determine which experience you have with your children. Number (1) What your attitude toward parenting is and how you think parenting is supposed to work. Number (2) How much you know about what parenting entails and why you need to do what you need to do to be successful at it? Number (3) Do you have the cojones to do what needs to be done to make your child a self reliant and loving person? OK back to number one. Follow up questions (I will give you the correct answers): As a parent, do you see yourself as a friend or as a coach/teacher? Please say coach/teacher. Second follow up question, do you make the effort to learn from experts in the field how to interact with today's young people? I am looking for a yes answer here. Thirdly, if you had to choose between being their friend or their parent, which would you choose? I hope you said parent. Confession.
